3-minute quickstart

Use this path the first time you try Hast. At the end, you should see a created agent in Dashboard and know how to move it into a real channel.

Before you start

Make sure these are in place before creating an agent:

  • You are signed in to Hast.
  • Your account has passed invite verification. If not, the create flow will ask for an invite code.
  • Your account has an active plan. The plan controls agent limits, resources, and feature access.
  • If your plan requires Agent ID binding, prepare an available Agent ID first.
  • If the form asks you to choose a model, make sure your account has a usable model configuration.

Agent ID is the long-term identity for an agent. It is used for email, wallet, and future identity capabilities. If your plan requires it, you must select an Agent ID that does not conflict with active agents.

Create your first agent

  1. Open Dashboard.
  2. Click Create Agent.
  3. If identity binding is required, select an available Agent ID.
  4. Enter a name. Use a responsibility-based name such as Community Support or Trading Monitor.
  5. Choose an agent type:
    • Hermes: for Expert Profiles, specialist analysis, and long-running context work.
    • OpenClaw: for operational tasks in chat apps, inboxes, email, calendars, and similar workflows.
  6. Choose the default AI model.
  7. If you use Hermes and your plan supports Expert Profiles, select the profiles to create with the agent.
  8. On the review step, check Agent ID, agent type, model, region, capabilities, and Brain Restore.
  9. Click Create Agent.

After submission, Hast saves the agent configuration and immediately attempts to create the runtime instance. You do not need to provision servers or configure containers manually.

Check success

After creation, you return to Dashboard. Common states are:

  • draft: configuration exists, but deployment has not completed.
  • provisioning: the runtime is being created or synchronized.
  • running: the agent is live and ready for channel setup.
  • stopped / failed: the runtime is not running; open the detail page to inspect or retry.

If creation fails, the common causes are:

  • Invite verification is not complete.
  • The account has no active subscription.
  • The selected agent type has reached the plan limit.
  • Agent ID is missing or conflicts with another active agent.
  • Model key or runtime configuration is unavailable.
  • Hermes Expert Profile quota is not enough.
